The exhibition at La Papeleria consisted of a series of gestural actions designed to unveil the space. It was decided to remove half of a wall to present an image or pattern, and the exhibition was documented through photographs, highlighting the concept of the space in a state of constant process and renewal.

El cuerpo de la imagen, el espacio como cuerpo, el cuerpo es el espacio.

O bien:

La imagen es el espacio, el cuerpo es espacio, el espacio es imagen.

O incluso:

El espacio es el cuerpo, es la imagen, el cuerpo es espacio.
Maureen Muse parte el espacio, desvelando sus interiores.
El gesto es una herida que acaricia el local. Se apropia de lo arquitectónico, que aquí entendemos en sentido amplio, de sus historias, de todas las imágenes que aquí se han albergado. Suspendiéndose en un constante proceso de resignificación del espacio: el espacio es cuerpo; el espacio es imagen.

Pero, a la vez: el cuerpo es imagen. Y la imagen es espacio.

Maureen reflexiona sobre qué es una imagen, sus condiciones más intrínsecas. Con este tríptico conceptual – imagen, cuerpo, espacio– que se intercambian mientras mantienen sus propias identidades, emerge la tensión queatraviesa su práctica entre cine, instalación y fotografía.

Se presenta en esta exhibición lo que siempre ha estado allí, y por fin, se desvela en su desnudez: una imagen- estructura-cuerpo, latente y presente a la vez, existiendo en una contradicción que no se sana, si no que se multiplica y se estira en sí misma.

La imagen ya existe, la artista solamente asume el gesto de desvelarla.

The body of the image, the image as the body, the body is the space.

Maureen Muse cracks the space, revealing its interiors.
The gesture is a wound that caresses the space.
She appropriates the architectural, understood in its most ample sense, of its histories, of all the images that have passed through. Through a constant process of resignification: the space is the body; the body is the image.

And, at the same time: the body is the image. And the image is the space.

Maureen explores the nature of the image, its most intrinsic conditions. Within this conceptual triptych – image, body, space– terms that she uses interchangeably while maintaining their own essence, the tension that pierces through her practice of cinema, installation, and photography emerges.

The exhibition presents what has always been there, and at last, it is unveiled in its bareness: an image- structure-body, both latent and present, existing in a contradiction that does not heal, but rather multiplies and stretches within itself.

The image already exists. The artist merely assumes the gesture of unveiling it.
