This exhibition presents both found and taken footage that visualizes the various spaces that we move in.

Maureen Muse’s work for this exhibition draws on the repetitive and performative movement we act out in our daily lives, ranging from private detective footage, encounters on the Paris Metro and various geographic locations.

Lending itself to the idea of the intimate and the body in space, a baby photo album and a series of photographs are presented in the gallery to evoke the ideas of the body entering space and transforming over time. The photos capture our existence within spaces. We become part of our environment, shaping, and manipulating it while still being confined by it. Suspended from the ceiling are sculptural pieces that materialize these gestures and actions.

These works were created through acts of repetition to materialize gestures and show spaces as a constraint. The works have developed through the lends of both the public and the private and the intimate. The videos works have been taken and found. They show repetitions within spaces that show similarities in our movements despite different environments.
