This work proposes a visual experience in which the rotating movement of the image is
reproduced both during filming and within the installation space.
Conceived as a 16mm film installation, Plaza Nelson Mandela unfolds through successive chapters filmed in public spaces. The project takes its title from its place of origin, Plaza Nelson Mandela. Each chapter begins where the previous one ends: the camera rotates continuously until the film reel runs out, and the memory of what was recorded becomes the foundation for the next iteration.
Invited artists may engage with the camera’s movement, while chance determines the figures who pass through the frame. First presented during Projector’s OFF 2023, the work is conceived as an evolving structure—organic, subjective, and in constant process.
