The title “Guiones” which means “scripts” in Spanish, takes inspiration from Toral’s creative process. He begins with a script and transforms it into a performance that can only be experienced through the lens of the capturing camera. The documentation was photographed by Muse and later hand-printed in a darkroom. These prints were then scanned and reproduced on translucent rice paper for the book.
For the photo installation in El Chico, Maureen showcased a collection of prints that comprised the book Guiones. Additionally, she displayed a series of test prints and different editions of the same image, each varying in terms of lightness or darkness.
